The following gives you a basic breakdown of the primary process that goes into the creation of your new bathroom

  1. Planning, design and detailed proposal:
The first step in any bathroom renovation is to determine your goals and needs for the space. This will usually involve an on-site visit to discuss the project. Having all interested parties on site for this initial discussion is preferable, so we are all on the same page from the beginning. At this stage, we will discuss what is required and throw around some ideas you may not have thought of yet to come up with a plan of what we will be quoting. Then we will take some measurements and photos of the existing space for our reference to create a design and produce a detailed proposal for your approval.
  2. Selections:
Finalising the selection of materials and fixtures. Our team can help you with this process, offering advice and guidance to ensure that your final design is functional and aesthetically pleasing.
  3. Demolition and preparation:
Once you finalise and approve the proposed work, the next step is to prepare the bathroom for renovation. This may involve demolishing the existing space, including removing fixtures, tiling, wall sheets, etc. It is important to adequately protect other areas of the home during this stage to prevent any other damage.
  4. Carpentry:
Once all the demolition has been completed, the next step is to address any carpentry changes or repairs necessary. This may include replacing any water damage, timbers, redesign work, cavity sliding doors, framing for new baths, recessed shaving cabinets or recessed niches, etc. We then pre-sheet the walls to ensure they will be flat and straight to allow for the installation of larger modern tiles.
  5. Plumbing and Electrical Rough-in:
The next step is to address any necessary plumbing and electrical work. This may involve installing new pipes, mixers and wiring to meet the needs of the new bathroom.
  6. Installation:
With the prep work complete, the next step is to install the new materials and fixtures. This may include re-sheeting, waterproofing, tiling, plastering, and painting. Then the plumbers and electricians will return to fit off the new appliances such as vanities, tap ware, toilets, and new electrical fixtures.
  7. Finishing touches:
Once the installation is complete, the final step is to add the finishing touches to the bathroom. This may include installing hardware such as towel rails, hooks, mirrors, and shower screens.
  8. Clean-up and inspection:
The final step in the renovation process is to clean up the work area and conduct a thorough inspection to ensure that everything has been completed to your satisfaction. Once the inspection is complete and any necessary touch-ups have been made, your bathroom renovation will be all done!

This entire process, from the start of work to final completion, for most bathrooms, is usually around 3 to 4 weeks. After that, it’s time to get in and enjoy the bathroom of your dreams. 😊
