Assessments

In most cases, our high-quality sealing technology can stop leaks without re-tiling. If your existing tiles are solid and intact, we can seal all joints where water is escaping, ensuring it stays inside the shower rather than seeping beneath the tiles and causing damage.

However, if your shower has more severe issues—such as loose, cracked, or damaged tiles—re-tiling or refurbishment may be necessary. If this is the case, we will discuss your options during the assessment and recommend the best long-term solution.

If you’re unsure about the condition of your shower, book a free assessment, and we’ll provide professionals advice on the best course of action.

We use a combination of advanced moisture detection technology and years of experience to assess the extent of water damage in your shower and surrounding areas.

How We Detect Moisture & Damage:

  • Non-invasive moisture meters – These tools use radio frequencies to detect moisture beneath the surface without causing damage.
  • Accurate readings – Our equipment determines whether the sub-material is dry, damp, or wet, helping us understand the severity of the issue.
  • Pinpointing the source – We can measure the depth of moisture penetration and locate the leak before visible damage occurs.

Our technology often identifies problems early, helping to prevent costly repairs to walls, timber floors, and skirting boards. However, in some cases where structural damage is suspected, the full extent of the damage may only become clear once the shower is pulled apart for a thorough assessment.

If you suspect water damage, contact us for a free assessment—early detection can save you time and money on repairs!

No, if a service or product is not listed in the scope of work in your written quote, it is not included.

Assessments can take up to 30 minutes, during which many details may be discussed. However, our written quote is carefully prepared to clearly outline what is included in the scope of work. This ensures transparency and that both parties understand exactly what will be completed.

If you expected a service or product that is not listed in your quote, please contact us before accepting so we can clarify or make any necessary adjustments

We can only provide an assessment based on the current conditions of your shower at the time of inspection.

If you have already stopped using your shower, we recommend resuming use before our arrival so we can take accurate moisture readings and properly assess the leak.

However, if the leak is causing significant damage—such as water pooling, structural issues, or mould growth—please use your discretion and limit shower use to prevent further damage.

If you’re unsure, feel free to contact us, and we’ll guide you on the best course of action before your assessment.

Key Warranty Information:

  • Different products/services come with different warranties, therefore, your quote will directly correlate with the warranties listed on our website under the T&C’s
  • In some cases, certain quotes may exclude a warranty due to pre-existing conditions in your shower or bathroom that are beyond our control. If this applies to your project, it will be explained in your written quote and/or in the on-site inspection video.

If you need clarification about your specific warranty, feel free to email our office, and our team will be happy to assist you.

Re-seals

Our Re-seal service comes with a 5-year product guarantee. If the Re-seal fails and your shower leak returns, we’ll fix it free of charge. Conditions apply.

Please note: The warranty/Guarantee applies to our completed work. We do not guarantee existing work that may cause future issues, such as existing tiles that may come loose or crack, etc.

Yes, some noise and dust are unavoidable during the process, especially when removing grout or preparing surfaces. However, we take every precaution to minimise disruption and keep your space clean.

Our team uses vacuum cleaners and dust extractors throughout the job to reduce dust as much as possible. If you have concerns about noise or dust exposure, we recommend keeping doors closed to contain any dust and, if possible, staying in another area of your home during the work.

If you have any specific concerns, feel free to discuss them with us before your appointment, and we’ll do our best to accommodate your needs.

When performing a Re-seal service, we often quote (where possible) to remove and reinstall the shower screen or install a new one. This enables us to access the hidden joints beneath it, which are usually the primary source of leaks. Removing the screen ensures a more thorough and durable seal, preventing future water damage.

The inside of your shower screen is not sealed because doing so can trap water inside the frame’s profiles, which can eventually leak out the front and cause further issues. This trapped moisture can lead to mould growth and water damage and even contribute to other shower leaks over time.

The correct installation method is to seal only the outside edges of the shower screen. This ensures that any water inside the frame can drain away properly, preventing buildup and maintaining the longevity and functionality of your shower screen.

In essence, yes, there is always some risk when re-grouting a shower. However, the risk is minimal in most cases when the correct techniques and tools are used.

At Re-seal Bathrooms, we carefully assess the risk vs. reward before recommending re-grouting. Some factors that can increase the risk include:

Hard grout or overfilled joints – These make grout removal more difficult and increase the chance of chipping tiles.

Calcification—An excessive buildup of calcification on grout can raise the risk of chipping the edges when removing grout and calcification.

Tile type and condition – Certain tiles are more fragile and prone to damage.

Reason for re-grouting – If grout must be replaced due to deterioration, the risk is much lower compared to cases where re-grouting is done purely for aesthetic reasons. If we have not recommended re-grouting but you would like it done, the risk of chipping tiles is higher.

We use various specialised tools and take all necessary precautions to minimise the risk of damage. However, if any damage does occur, we do not accept liability for tile replacement. For minor chips, we have a chip repair product that can be used to restore small areas.

If you have concerns about your specific tiles, we’re happy to discuss alternative solutions to achieve the best outcome for your shower.

No, most of the sealants and products we use have minimal odour, and any scent that is present dissipates quickly.

To ensure proper ventilation, we recommend keeping windows open or using exhaust fans during and after the service. This will help any residual smell clear faster, leaving your bathroom fresh and ready to use once the curing time is complete.

If you have any sensitivities to odours or specific concerns, feel free to let us know before your appointment, and we’ll be happy to advise further.

A standard Re-seal service typically takes 2.5 to 3 hours to complete.

However, if additional work is required—such as re-grouting or more extensive repairs—the service may take up to 6-7 hours.

Before starting, our technicians will provide you with an estimated timeframe based on the scope of work

No, you don’t need to be home during the service, as long as we have access to your property on the scheduled day.

Our technicians are highly experienced and trustworthy, and many of our clients choose to leave them to work independently. Once the job is completed, our team will ensure everything is secure and locked up before they leave.

If you have any special instructions regarding access, please let us know in advance so we can accommodate your needs.

Yes, a leaking tap can impact our service. The shower must be completely dry for our products to adhere properly and for our technicians to carry out the work effectively.

If your tap is dripping, we recommend having it serviced by a licensed plumber before your appointment to ensure there is no moisture present during our work. Addressing this issue beforehand will help prevent delays and provide the best results for your shower.

You will typically need to wait 24 hours before using your shower again to allow materials to fully cure and set.

In some cases, a longer drying time may be required, depending on the type of work performed, the conditions of your shower, and the environment. If an extended wait time is necessary, our team will discuss this with you before starting the job and provide clear instructions.

To ensure the best results and longevity of the work, we recommend following the advised curing time before resuming regular use of your shower.

To ensure the best results, your shower must be clean and completely dry before our scheduled appointment.

If these conditions are not met, we may be unable to proceed with the service, resulting in a missed call-out fee of $220. We try to be as accommodating as possible; however, last-minute cancellations or delays make it difficult to reallocate the appointment time, often leaving our technicians without work for that period.

To avoid any inconvenience or additional charges, please prepare your shower in advance by ensuring it is thoroughly cleaned and dry before we arrive

Yes, you can cancel or reschedule your appointment, but we require a minimum of two business days’ notice.

Clean your shower weekly with a 50/50 mixture of white vinegar and water.

Yes, the penetrating floor sealer is an aerosol spray applied directly to the grout joints to help reduce porosity and enhance water resistance. Because the sealer is clear and designed to soak into the grout, it does not leave a visible layer on the surface.

Although you may not see a difference, rest assured that the sealer is working to protect your grout from moisture and stains.

We can certainly provide advice on mould prevention and removal if you’re experiencing a severe mould issue. However, please note that we do not offer warranties against mould or mildew, as these problems are often linked to factors beyond our control, such as ventilation, moisture levels, and household maintenance.

If mould is a persistent issue in your home, we recommend consulting a mould treatment specialist. Companies like Electro Dry offer professional mould removal services that can help address the root cause of the problem.

Tile availability—In many cases, the original tiles, including specific sizes, may no longer be available. If this happens, we will discuss suitable alternative options with you on-site.

EnduroShield

EnduroShield uses nanotechnology to create a durable and clear layer of protection suitable for all types of glass.

The invisible coating works by lining the tiny hills and valleys on the surface it’s applied to. The result is an invisible coating that repels water, grime, and even oil-based stains, making cleaning super easy.

To keep your shower glass looking new, the glass should be cleaned each week using a damp microfibre cloth and a mild detergent to remove any soap scum, dirt or grime from the glass.

No, the coating is only 2 molecules thick and is transparent. It will not crack or discolour over time.

Yes, EnduroShield creates a water-repellent surface, which results in water beading on the glass. The effect is similar to a non-stick fry pan.

Applying EnduroShield to your new shower screen is a smart investment. It protects the glass and makes cleaning significantly easier.

If you’re purchasing your shower screen through us, we’ll arrange for EnduroShield to be applied at the factory before installation, ensuring a seamless and efficient process.

If you’ve recently had a new shower screen installed by another provider, it’s best to contact us as soon as possible. The EnduroShield warranty is 10 years when applied to brand-new glass, but if the glass is more than 7 days old, the warranty period is reduced to 3 years. Acting quickly ensures you get the best protection and longest-lasting warranty for your shower screen.

Shower Screens

When performing a reseal service, we often quote (where possible) to remove and reinstall the shower screen or install a new one.

Shower screens are designed to contain splash water while showering, but they are not completely watertight enclosures—they are not built to function like fish tanks.

Some water may escape if you fill the base with water or directly spray seals, joints, or edges with a handheld shower rose. Shower screens are designed to allow for natural drainage and ventilation rather than creating a fully sealed barrier.

To prevent leaks, we recommend using your shower as intended, ensuring the water flow is directed towards the drain area rather than heavily spraying the screen’s edges or seals. If you’re experiencing significant leakage during regular shower use, feel free to contact us, and we can assess whether adjustments are needed.

Yes, we can definitely help with your new shower screen! While we don’t manufacture shower screens ourselves, we work closely with a trusted local supplier to provide high-quality options.

We can provide you with a quote at the same price you would get by going directly to the supplier. However, when you organise your shower screen through us, we coordinate the measurement and installation, ensuring everything aligns smoothly with the scheduling of your bathroom repairs.

This service is designed to make the process easier and more convenient for you—allowing you to manage everything through one company for scheduling and invoicing rather than coordinating with multiple providers.

We have been using the same team of subcontractors—including plumbers, electricians, and other specialists—on every job for many years. While they may not be direct employees, they are an integral part of our team. Their long-standing relationship with us ensures that our high standards, quality of work, and warranties remain unchanged.
